DWTS Week Seven Results Night
With all the ongoing rule-change experiments and random maimings that occur in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom, I do not think Tom Bergeron gets enough credit for his ability to keep us current. He and his writers (or just his ad-libbing brain, for those more immediate moments of unpredictability) have a consistent ability to explain the newly-altered landscape with concision and wit. Not just anyone could have calmly thrown it to commercial during The Great Osmond Fainting of Ought-Seven.

DWTS Week Seven Competition Night!
have to confess I actually had a dream that involved Dancing With the Stars this week, so I am grateful that after this week’s double elimination we will be down to only five contestants; which makes next week’s show effectively the quarterfinals. The amount of hip ruffles, superfluous montages, and Bergeron quips I have had to ingest in the last two months rivals Homer Simpson’s experience in Donut Hell.

Episode 84 : Instant Classic
Top Chef Las Vegas & the Amazing Race are discussed and Allison promises a quick but episode and then notably fails, on the quick part that is. Bryan eggs her on, so they’re both at fault but that’s the risk you take with free entertainment. This was an alright week for Top Chef but Amazing Race was so damn awesome, just listen to how excited Allison & Bryan get! And listeners, off topic, but what are your top 5 classic television series?

DWTS Week Six Elimination Night!
I have frequently gonged Dancing With the Stars for not finding a working formula for Elimination Night; but tonight might have been their strongest attempt. With room for two celebs on the chopping block, they narrow the field of jeopardized to three, immediately eliminate the lowest scorer, then give the remaining two space to perform a 30-second “Knockout Dance” for the judges, who then pick a non-scored straight-up winner to survive until next week.

DWTS Week Six Competition Night!
Any self-respecting list of the top 10 Movies Most Likely to Make You Want to Eat a Gun would have to include 1969’s They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? This optimism-starved, Sydney Pollack-directed drama, nominated for nine Academy Awards, is adapted from a Depression-Era novel about contemporary dance marathons – awful spectacles where penniless nobodies spent days, often weeks, trying to outlast each other in couples’ swaying, with their only reward a grand prize for the single winning couple and free meals for as long as they could stay on their feet. People died on the dance floor while the yucksters in the crowd flung nickels at them.

A North Hollywood Blast From The Top Chef Past
Today is the day I finally get around to talking about this wonderful night we were able to experience! I’m Not Here To Make Friends (and other many more prestigious media outlets) were invited to the media preview for the restaurant Firenze Osteria. You may wonder, why do much press for a new restaurant? The answer is that this is one of Top Chef: NY alumnus Fabio Viviani’s new ventures.

DWTS Week Five Results Night!
The centerpiece of this week’s Results Show is a tribute to Michael Jackson. Tom points out that a bet-you-can’t-list-‘em-all 17 songs recorded by Jackson have been used in the show’s history – Drew and Cheryl’s Halloween Night Thriller routine put him on the path to the championship, as did Mark and Shawn’s P.Y.T. cha-cha last season.
But the influence goes beyond the songs. The pro dancers (as well as a singer in Harold Wheeler’s Band who toured with Jackson) have all been powerfully influenced by his work, and you can see real awe as they assume the responsibility of honoring his legacy on behalf of the show.

DWTS Week Five Competition Night!
Part of the high-wire energy of Dancing With the Stars is that you have this pressure cooker of deeply strange people on live television, all of whom want America™ to love them best. This goes for the contestants, the pros, and the judges, too. Little moments can turn in an instant to a high-stakes game of joke poker, with too many people too dumb to quit raising the bet. It’s the stuff that can happen too fast for taste judgment that delights.

The Fate Of Solitary 4.0
As you may have already heard, Fox Reality Channel will be shutting down services in March 2010. My first thought was “WHAT ABOUT SOLITARY 4.0?!”. I have been holding off posting my thoughts on the Fox Reality Channel shut down until I had information for everyone (and myself) about what will happen to our favorite reality show.
Drumroll please……………………
Solitary 4.0 WILL air before before the network stops broadcasting. No worries, we still will get our VAL fix but the fate of the Solitary Franchise is up in the air and currently looking for a new home after 4.0. I’m Not Here To Make Friends will be starting a little campaign to show other networks that we aren’t ready to leave our pods yet. Keep coming back for more information on the Save Solitary Campaign.

DWTS Week Four Results Night
The intro to Results Night on Dancing With the Stars is full of big talk about all the hot and exploding dance moves that were on display the previous evening. I think these words were necessary because someone down in editing found the button for flame graphics and now they’re jabbing it like an ADD stockbroker waiting for the elevator. I guess it’s credit enough to the show that they’re not using Star Wipe for everything.
Wish you can get more star wipe? Click “continue reading” below.

DWTS Week Four Competition Night!
The judges on Dancing With the Stars have moved into their mid-season mood, which means they are less-easily amused, and less apt to award novelty points. They expect dancing now; only they have a full season’s worth of contenders still hanging around at which they can aim their missiles. Len hasn’t even waited, tossing out one low score after another – I think the audience’s hate makes him powerful, and if that means that eliminated contestants get blasted with Force Lightning instead of that useless “Last Dance” ritual, I would give that a thumbs-up.
